written and oral part

Three steps

Repeat until you have enough points to pass.

  1. 1

Take a test against the clock

The whole written part in one go, listening without stopping.

  2. 2

See where the points are missing

Points for each part, written and oral separately, and how many are missing to 60 %.

  3. 3

    Drill exactly that

One part at a time, no clock, as often as it takes. Then a whole test again.

Show example

As in the exam hall

The same parts, the same time, the same points. Every listening text plays as many times as in the exam.

  • The pass mark for each part

135 of 225 written, 45 of 75 oral: you see where you stand in each.

  • Practice by part

Each part on its own, no clock, with the answers and the listening transcript afterwards.

  • Oral exam

The examiner asks by voice, you answer into the microphone. A language model marks the conversation from a transcript, so pronunciation only indirectly. The first session is free; paid access brings 5 per 90 days.

Writing: marks and corrections

A language model marks it, not an examiner: the exam's three criteria, the reason for each mark, and corrections taken from your own text.

B1 or B2: two separate exams

telc German B1 and B2 are two different exams with their own certificates. Which level you need depends on what it is for — the authority or employer asking for it says which.

Questions

Do I have to pay?+
One full test per level is free and needs no card. All tests cost €39 for 90 days.
Are these real telc papers?+
No. We write the tests ourselves in the telc German B1 and B2 format: the same parts, time and points. We are an independent provider, not connected with telc gGmbH.
Who marks writing and speaking?+
A language model, against the exam's criteria — not an examiner. You get the points, the reason for each and corrections. For speaking it works from a transcript, so pronunciation only indirectly.
When is the exam passed?+
With 60 % in the written part and 60 % in the oral part, separately: 135 of 225 and 45 of 75 points. A strong written part does not make up for a weak oral one. The B1 exam in detail →
How long does the exam take?+
The written part takes 150 minutes on B1 and 140 on B2; the oral part about 15 minutes, with 20 minutes to prepare.

Start with one part

The shortest takes 30 minutes. The result and the answers show right after.
